Toronto, I’m excited to be back on King Street West for TIFF Festival Street this Sunday, September 13.
I’ll be performing from 2:00–4:30 PM, and the event is completely free.
Big miigwech to TIFF and Canada’s Music Incubator (CMI) for having me and creating space for Canadian artists during one of the biggest cultural weekends in Toronto.
For me, opportunities like this are about more than getting behind the decks. I’ve spent over 20 years producing music, almost two decades DJing, and most of my life dancing. Music and movement have taken me from Northern Ontario and First Nations communities to stages across the country, while Toronto has become an important part of my journey and growth as an artist.
My sound continues to evolve, but the roots stay the same. House and Techno, rhythm, movement, culture and that connection between the DJ and the people in front of me.
That’s what I’m bringing to King Street.
There’s something special about playing outside in the middle of downtown Toronto with people walking in from everywhere. Some people might already know Classic Roots. Others might just hear the music from down the street and decide to stop for a dance. I love that.
