🎧 June is here. 🪶🎧

Still taking this all in honestly.
Honoured to officially be part of FIFA Fan Festival Toronto 2026 this summer 🌎⚽️
Seeing my name included alongside so many incredible artists, DJs and performers across Toronto’s cultural programming truly means a lot.
From Long Lake 58 First Nation to Toronto stages — this journey has always been bigger than music alone. It’s about culture, community, movement and connection.
For 22 days, Toronto will welcome the world through football, music, art, dance and celebration — and I’m deeply honoured to contribute to that energy.
House music has always brought people together for me. Different backgrounds. Different stories. One rhythm.
To bring Indigenous energy and underground electronic sounds into a global event like FIFA honestly feels surreal.
Big love to everybody who has supported me throughout the years — from community centres, Pow Wow Boot Camps and youth workshops to clubs, festivals and dancefloors across the country.
This moment belongs to the community too.
See you June 21 at FIFA Fan Festival Toronto ⚽️🎶

Raw House grooves, Classic House energy & Jackin’ rhythms for the month of May 🌙🎛️
This month’s edition of Tech Radio 012 is a deep ride through soulful textures, rolling basslines, underground movement and late-night dancefloor energy. Inspired by classic House roots while blending modern groove-driven selections, this mix was built for true lovers of underground dance culture.
Paired with this powerful image captured during a Pow Wow session, this post represents movement in every form — rhythm, culture, energy and identity. From the dancefloor to the arena, everything connects through vibration, storytelling and spirit.
From warm soulful cuts to stripped-back Jackin’ grooves, every transition was selected with intention. This is music for late-night drives, warehouse moments, sunrise reflections and people who still believe House music is a feeling.

No gimmicks.
No trends.
Just timeless grooves.

Miigwech to everybody continuing to support independent music, Indigenous artistry and the underground culture that keeps us moving forward.
Turn it up.
Drive safe.
Dance freely. 🖤

As the year turns inward and the Winter Solstice arrives, I wanted to mark the moment with something deep, steady, and intentional.
Tech Radio 007 is a deep techno journey built for reflection, late nights, and long listens. This mix leans into hypnotic rhythms, subtle tension, and forward momentum — the kind of sounds that sit between movement and stillness.
This one is about grounding energy. No rush. No excess. Just letting the music breathe.

Joshua DePerry is known in the Anishinaabe community as a colourful ‘fancy dancer’ who impressively integrates contemporary dance moves at traditional pow wows. In Toronto, he is known as Classic Roots, an up-and-coming music producer and DJ who blends Indigenous sounds with modern techno and house music.
TURNING TABLES is an uplifting story of resilience, passion and faith, and ultimately a positive reminder that it is possible to look to the future without losing sight of the past.

Currently based in Toronto but carrying the spirit of Northern Ontario with him, Classic Roots is one of Canada's best kept secrets. Infusing tribal rhythms and his own boreal spirit over raw techno beats is his specialty and he does not disappoint for his debut release with M5! Red Pill's slamming kick drum and powerful energy grab you from the opening beat and take you right into the matrix of techno bliss. The young and talented, Anthony Tomov brings some eastern flavor to this release with his melody oriented interpretation. Fat beats coupled with dirty little stabs and hints of the original vocal make Anthony's remix a peak time affair fit for any dance floor. With POLS remix we get a festival ready earth scorcher of a techno beast complete with a 303 reminiscent bassline and huge drops. We hope you enjoy Classic Roots Red Pill as much as we do!

At the opening ceremony of the North American Indigenous Games, he was the guy in the Team Rocket shirt grinning behind the decks, while a squad of dancers moved to his "pow wow techno" beats. But ask Joshua DePerry — a.k.a. DJ Classic Roots — READ MORE
